Adios to 8 months!

Last journal until we hit the 9 month mark!! Alexis sure is hitting all her Milestones very quickly! We have another tooth on the top and still waiting for the last one to come in which has put her in a "mood" that we can't wait for it to go away. She may not be crawling yet..but she is EVERYWHERE!!! We will tell Lexi to come somewhere and she will roll right over and prop herself up where we told her to go! She loves playing under the coffee table because we have glass shelves on it so one day that table is going to magically disappear!

But we also notice that she has what daycare calls "stranger danger" and really isn't into people that she doesn't know approach her...or as long as Joe and I are close but never if we aren't there will a "new person" have luck making friends with her even though she is so very smiley. As you can see from her pictures she is standing up in her crib so we are not sure how long the crawling phase will last when it does eventually get here...SHE IS SO VERY CLOSE...and when I mean so very close, I mean it!! She pulls herself up onto her hands and knees but one leg is always caught and she gives up and sits back down. We have found if we put something WAY in front of her she will try a little harder!! Always trying to do things the easy way....rolilng is just easier so she does it...eating from a bottle is just easier so she liked that better..what is next!!!

We had to "fluff" up her hair after she passed out after a bottle. We can finally do this while it is dry after 9 months!! Took long enough. :-)

Lexi and I made it through the week without Daddy with flying colors. It was very tiring but we did it and when Joe got home from Scotland and walked in the door, Lexi started crying! I guess she just figured out that Daddy was gone for a long time. She doesn't let us leave the room for very long these days. We also have been experiencing some random "morning fits". I don't know if its the teething or her just giving us attitude. They never last long but the squeals are hard to miss. She has been doing that lately when I take her to daycare in the morning..hopefully we are not going through another "phase"!



We go for our 9 month check-up on October 11th. Hopefully I will have more to report but will update the site since she will get weighed and measured. Mommy is so very happy for NO SHOTS!!! HOORAY!!!

Rollin, Rollin, Rollin

Yep..we are definitely on the move!! She has certainly figured out how to get somewhere with moving and scooching her way towards the object in mind. She is also finding more hiding spots to get into like under the coffee table..she can get there but then gets frustrated she can't get out but eventually figures it out.

And now since she is on the move so much, (can't wait to see what happens when she actually does crawl or walk), she takes little breaks since she gets tired or frustrated!

Just a little update....just moving and talking a lot!!! Growing out of our clothes quickly and very squirmy and ready to be on the move..not sure mommy and daddy are ready for this but....

PROFESSIONAL PICS FINALLY DONE!!

Ok..so I have been slacking a little bit...didn't get newborn pics or 3 month pics or even 6 month pics but at almost 8 1/2 months, I felt for some reason it was time to get some pictures taken of our little princess. She was very good actually! No meltdowns, just got a little worn out after her photo shoot and then took a nap on Grandpa. But all in all, she was a very good "subject". Not too many smiles and we didn't keep our shoes on for very long but we were pleased for the 5-10 minute session of constant clicking of the camera.

Just some fun pics as Alexis continues to do new things and keeps trying to figure out how to crawl. We have mastered the roll all over the place and flip up onto our stomach to reach for things that she wants...also is scooting backwards and getting into more trouble!!

Still no top teeth but I am sure those will show up when they feel like it just like when she decides to crawl. She can stand on her own without our help while holding onto the edge of the couch or coffee table. Daycare is still going wonderfully and she is loving it! The ladies that take care of Lexi are dreading the day she "graduates" to the 1 year old room.

YAY for enough hair!

I have finally made an appointment for some professional pictures on 9/13 while Daddy decides to jump over the big blue ocean for a week to Scotland to go and do some work. Still have to decide what to put her in and I will be really anxious to see if she likes the photographer since I have heard some don't!! Only time will tell. We went shopping the other day for some baby gates and the next step in carseats since Alexis is well on her way to graduating to the "next level" of carseats. Can't wait to see her "stats" when we go to the DR for her 9 month check-up next month and NO SHOTS!!! THANK GOD!!!
