10 Months update

Just a little update on how things are going in the Sheehan household since I finally uploaded some new pictures into her 10 month album! Alexis really doesn't sit still for very long and if she does, she closes her eyes when the flash goes off...GRRR! So I just take what I can get now. She now has 4 top teeth and still only 2 bottom teeth..I am sure those will come in soon enough. Still no walking on her own but she does use ANY piece of furniture to stand up and move around...and sometimes those pieces happen to be mommy and daddy! In the last few weeks, she really has caught on and started to understand what we are telling her so the "babytalk" is pretty much done. If you ask her if she wants a bottle, she will nod either yes or no! She will pick up the remote control to the TV and point it at the TV and in some cases turn the TV off!! Thanks Daddy for teaching me that! She does know the meaning of NO...and she actually listens. She doesn't like it and throws her hands up since she is our little drama queen but moves on to the next item of interest since she is still turbo crawling. Lately, she has been throwing these random fits that are really not brought on by anything(unless she is tired) and this will go on for about 15 minutes and then she is all good to go...school has seen these fits a couple of times and mommy and daddy have seen plenty of them. But ever since they started a few weeks ago, they seem to be getting milder as time goes on. So, hopefully, this "phase" is almost over. She is constantly on the move which means less napping BUT when she does nap, she naps for longer periods of time since she is exhausted from all the moving around. The throwing a fit during diaper changes is over but now she throws a fit anytime we try to put her arms through anything...like her PJ's, or her jacket or even getting ready for school in the morning...she really doesn't like you messing with her arms for some reason. Not sure why...again, hopefully another phase. Our evenings have gotten a little easier over the last month. It seems that Alexis wants to eat all her solids while she is at school so 7:30am, 11:30am and 4pm she is eating her "meals" plus an 8 ounce bottle. All we have to do in the evening is give her a bedtime bottle and put her to bed! We are definitely enjoying this!

I can't believe the holidays are just around the corner and I have actually started to think about Alexis's first birthday party and all that needs to be done...gotta love having a birthday 12 days after Christmas! We are excited about our family photo session that will be taking place this month on the 22nd!! Hopefully Alexis will cooperate "some" for our photographer. Definitely will try to get those pictures taken up in a timely manner once I get them back from the photographer.

UNTIL NEXT TIME!!!

Adios to 9 Months!

It feels like I just said good-bye to 8 months! Time sure is flying these days. No walking yet so we are not sure who will win the bet or maybe neither one of us will win it! Just wanted to add a quick journal entry and last one before Alexis hits the 10 month mark next week! Just a few new things since I last sent out an update: Alexis now knows how to "kiss". She won't pucker but she will lean in and put her mouth on our cheeks and "kiss" us! So sweet! She is also getting another top tooth so this will be our 5th one!! I was wondering why my drool monster came back. And last but not least, we finally graduated to the next level of carseat. She's not sure what to think about it right now but I am sure over time, she will love it. She outgrew it first in length rather than weight. We have been procrastinating this purchase for a month now. So they are both now installed and ready to be put to use.

She was so tired, she fell asleep on my lap like this...

She very briefly let us put her costume on

The feet were hilarious!

We are excited about our family photo session that will be taking place this month on the 22nd!! Hopefully Alexis will cooperate "some" for our photographer. We did not go trick or treating this year since Joe and I really didn't want to load up on candy and she wasn't too thrilled about putting a costume on. We will start shopping for a costume much earlier next year since her school really seems to get into the Halloween spirit.

UNTIL NEXT TIME!!
